Pioneering the future of clean energy and valorization, BioWatt’s innovative catalysts will break down sugars in biowaste to create simple safe liquid organic molecules known as formate. Further commercialization of this output will capture electrons released as part of this reaction, which can then be used to generate clean electric energy via BioWatt fuel cell systems also in development.

The energy will be immediately usable, and the formate will stored in a liquid form and then converted into functional formate salts (Sodium Formate, Calcium Formate, Potassium formate) or released as hydrogen using a reformer device.

By engineering new ways to use biowaste, BioWatt’s technology will help solve the industry-wide challenges of biowaste usability and large-scale, zero-carbon energy creation.
